Every new year invites a pause, not just to set goals, but to examine the presence we bring into the spaces we lead.

Presence is more than showing up; it is the emotional, physical, relational and psychological impact we carry into every conversation, decision and moment of influence.

Leaders hold power through their presence, whether they intend to or not and that presence must be fully understood to ensure it is landing constructively, with intention and with respect and compassion.

Attuned leadership means leading with people, not over them. It requires noticing the atmosphere you create, the signals your tone, manner and behaviour send and the way others experience you.

If you are not aware of how your team experience you, now is the time, find out.

When leaders attune before they act, they honour the humanity in the room, cultivate psychological safety and wield their influence with connection, not control.

Let your 2026 leadership begin not with action, but with awareness!

🍃 Presence shapes culture before words do

🍃 Attunement turns authority into partnership

🍃 Leading with people strengthens trust, belonging and sustainable practices

🍃 Unexamined presence, risks becoming unconscious power

🍃 Reflective awareness is the foundation of relational leadership

Reflective questions to ponder:

⭕ How might others experience my presence when I enter a space?

⭕ Do I lead with people or unintentionally over them?

⭕ What cues can I tune into before acting, to ensure I am attuned, rather than imposing?
